Ronan student chosen for regional music ensemble

A Ronan High School student has been selected to perform in an prestigious regional musical ensemble.
Clarinetist Jenaya Burns was chosen out of over 4,600 students from across Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming to take part in the National Association for Music Education’s Northwest performing group. Selected musicians will meet in Bellevue, Wash., from Feb. 16-19 to rehearse and perform under the direction of world-renowned conductors. Previous Northwesterners who have participated in the program include trumpeters Doc Severinson and Allen Vizzutti, Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist and columnist David Horsey, 2008 National Teacher of the Year Andrea Peterson and jazz saxophonist Kenny G.
