NIC GOLF: Cardinal men take NWAC match title, women 2nd

COSMOPOLIS, Wash. — Sean Langham and Ross Gilbert tied for third place to lead the North Idaho College mens golf team to a first-place finish in a Northwest Athletic Conference match, which concluded Monday at Highland Golf Course.

The mens team shot a 563 (+3), to take the title by 11 strokes over Southwest Oregon.

“The guys played great and shot 8 under (272) today, great bounce back from yesterday,” NIC golf coach Russell Grove said.

On the women’s side, NIC’s Katie Fyall finished sixth and Amalia Negrette seventh to lead the Cardinals team to a second-place finish.

The NIC men and women are back in action oct. 22-23 at the Whitworth Invitational in Brewster, Wash.
