Helen Frances Meek, 80

Helen Frances Meek, 80, passed away at her home in Bigfork surrounded by family on Sept. 30, 2016.

Helen was born Feb. 16, 1936, in St. Ignatius to Roy and Ruby Morigeau. She was raised in Polson where she graduated from high school and later married James Lawrence on June 30, 1953. In November of the same year she was baptized in the Jehovah Witness Church. Helen was married to James for 43 years before he sadly passed away. On July 13, 2002 she married Allen “Bud” Meek.

Helen was a loving mother and grandmother who was always ready to greet her family and friends with a big smile and a hug. She also loved to spend many hours picking huckleberries with her special friends. Helen followed her faith as a Jehovah Witness until her death.

Helen was preceded in death by her daughter Francine Smith, husband James, parents, sister Janet, and brother George.

She is survived by her husband, Allen “Bud” Meek; children, Heidi Currier, David Lawrence and Jim Lawrence; sister, Pat Funke; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Helen’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Highway 35, mile marker 34.5 in Bigfork.
