SANDPOINT — After 26 years of providing hair design services in Sandpoint, Willa Key is retiring and plans to help her husband around their ranch.
Key sold her studio she owned for the past six years, "Willa's Hair Design," to Liz Taylor, a licensed hair designer in Sandpoint for more than 20 years.
Taylor will continue the business as "Hair Profiles by Liz Taylor." The studio is located at 112 S. Second Avenue in Sandpoint.
It has been a long-time dream of Taylor’s to own her own establishment and she is excited for the opportunity, she said. She looks forward to serving the Sandpoint community and surrounding area.
"My goal was to work for myself so I could enjoy more of my life," Taylor said.
"I enjoy hair and wouldn't want to do anything else."
She also enjoys spending time with her daughter and riding horses.
Key said while she is sad she will not see her clients anymore, she feels blessed not only to know Taylor, but also to know Taylor loves the salon as much as she does. Taylor worked for Key several years ago and they grew very close.
"I have never worked with anybody that is more congenial, easy to please, very considerate ... she is just a very sweet lady," Key said.
Key also said she would like to thank her clients for their support over the past 26 years. She said she will miss them, but is looking forward to retirement.
Taylor purchased the studio in May and officially took over Sept. 28. She is accepting clients by appointment only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and can be reached by phone at 208-610-0662.
