U.S. 95 crash kills 2 people

CAREYWOOD — Two people were killed and two more were injured in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 95 on Tuesday night.
Idaho State Police said a motorist driving a 1983 Oldsmobile Delta 88 northbound when he collided with a southbound tractor-trailer. The identity of the driver was not released Wednesday pending notification of kin.
A passenger in the full-size sedan, Tasha L. Coffman-Saeburn, 31, of Eugene, Ore., was also killed in the collision. State police said it was unclear if the driver of the Olds was wearing a seatbelt and didn’t specify if Coffman-Saeburn was belted.
The Olds collided with a Peterbilt semi driven by Denis LeBrun, a 55-year-old from Madeville, Quebec, Canada. LeBrun was injured in the crash, as was his passenger, Andre Marc Arule, a 55-year-old from Pont-Rouge, Quebec.
Arule and Lebrun were taken to Kootenai Health Center in Coeur d’Alene for treatment. State police said it was unknown if LeBrun was wearing a seatbelt and didn’t specify if Arule was wearing safety restraints.
The crash happened at about 10:25 p.m. north of the Old School House Road turnoff on Granite Hill. The highway was blocked for five hours, according to state police.
Troopers are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the crash or the moments before or after. Those with information are asked to call 208-209-8620.
Ten people have been killed in Bonner County this year in collisions involving vehicles or locomotives, according to the ISP news release archive.
The Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety reported that 15 people were killed and 239 people were injured in collisions in Bonner County in 2015.
