COEUR d’ALENE — Yee-haw, pardners: it's time for a hoedown.
The 3Cs (Cancer and Community Charities) is presenting its 14th annual Fall Fest from 5:30-9 p.m. Oct. 22, and this year the "Hoedown" returns.
"Last year the Fall Fest ‘Hoedown’ was so much fun, they decided to do it again this year," said 3Cs President Barbara Newland. “Everybody had so much fun. If you can get your husband, and my husband, out dancing with the Blazen Divaz, that means it’s fun."
The Fall Fest — with a "Diamonds, Boots and Spurs" theme — takes place at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn, 506 W. Appleway Ave. It will feature boot-scootin' live entertainment by the Divaz, national fiddling champion Justin Sherfey and national guitar champion Drew Miller as well as live and silent auctions, a wine and liquor raffle and a 50/50 money pot raffle.
Live auction items include two two-week stays in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, a romance package at the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn and a Lake Coeur d'Alene cruise for eight aboard Duane and Lola Hagadone's personal sailboat, "Sizzler," with dinner at Beverly's.
"3Cs is extremely appreciative of the generosity of Duane and Lola Hagadone in providing the Fall Fest 'Hoedown' with the auction item of the 'Sizzler,'" said event chair Bobbi Freeman. "They have helped us so much this year with the cruise. The Hagadones have blessed us this year with these marvelous gifts. We’re just extremely excited."
Freeman, who is stepping down as chair after 14 years, said what she loves the most is seeing the event come together and watching everyone enjoy the evening.
"We work so hard doing it every single year," she said. "It's just so sweet when it's so successful, and I just love the people I work with, these lovely ladies. I just love the 3Cs so much."
The Fall Fest "Hoedown" is a major fundraising event for the 3Cs, which is a nonprofit dedicated to raising money to give to charities throughout Kootenai County.
Tickets are $45 per person, include buffet and are $20 tax deductible. For reservations, call Marcia Saunders at 773-4909.
