Charlene Ann (Dyer) Little passed away Sept. 19, 2016. She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Dallas, Texas, to Thomas and Ruth Dyer.
Charlene, known to family and friends as “Beebee,” attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She left before graduating to marry the love of her life, Robert Lee Little Sr., on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947, at Balboa Park in San Diego, Calif. They remained in San Diego and had two children, Robert Lee Little Jr. and R. Roxanna Little. She and her husband loved raising their family and traveling before his early death in December 1986. “Beebee” subsequently moved to Port Townsend, Wash., to be near her son. She also maintained a home in Rathdrum, Idaho, near her daughter.
An avid and talented bridge player, she enjoyed the regular games she played with friends at the Twin Lakes Village Club House and with a group in Coeur d’Alene. Known for her love of all things purple and her amazing collection of penguin everything, she collected cookbooks and had a delightful sense of humor right up until the time of her death.
She is survived and is truly missed by her two children; her daughter-in-law, Chris Little (Robert); 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A granddaughter preceded her in death.
