He was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, 1953, at Coeur d’Alene General Hospital. He was born to Gerald and Lois Riggs.

He attended school in Hayden Lake and Coeur d’Alene. He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1972. For the past 14 years, he lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he passed away Sept. 30, 2016.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins; most of all his mother, Lois Elizabeth; and recently his nephew, Andrew. He is survived by his father, Jerry; brothers and sisters Renee, Richard, Karen, Beverly, Jolee and Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.

Growing up in North Idaho, Dave loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the outdoors. His favorite outdoors was in the fast lane — hanging out with buddies in his yellow ’67 Chevelle on Sherman Avenue. Those good old days will be remembered by all his friends forever.
