Man hit by a train in Lincoln County

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report at 4:42 a.m. on Thursday that there appeared to be a dead person on the BNSF Railway tracks in the Wolf Creek area. According to a press release, a second train stopped and verified the report. Deputies found that a man had been run over by a train. The body was recovered and the incident is under investigation, but authorities believe the death was an accident. The name of the deceased has not been released.
Libby Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating the death of 30-year-old Sheena Devine, who was found deceased on Thursday morning. According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, someone called 911 and reported that a friend had possibly been assaulted sometime in the night. More details were not immediately available.
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report from a Bigfork woman who said that her insurance company asked her to file a report after her dog took her purse from her vehicle and made off into the woods. The woman found her phone, but her keys, credit cards and wallet were still missing.
A man on Seventh Avenue West called, threatening to shoot two dogs after they allegedly attacked him and left him bleeding.
Campers on Bear Creek Road in Bigfork were told to move along. The caller said the people had been kicked off federal land a week earlier but had come back, this time to state property.
A man on Berne Road in Columbia Falls reported that someone had broken into a garage and stolen some chainsaws.
A woman called from Bierney Creek Road in Lakeside to complain that construction workers were allegedly throwing rocks at turkeys in her pasture.
Kalispell Police took a report from a woman who claimed that her $59 hat had been stolen while she was in court. An officer was on the case.
A woman on Third Avenue East North reported that her tires had been slashed while she was in a store. Someone called back later and said that the slashed tires were caused by an argument and that all were fine.
A shelter worker reported that a man had stolen the car of a woman he had allegedly abused. The car was parked in front of the shelter.
A woman complained that a man with a machete was being belligerent and disorderly and had left a house. Officers tried to locate the man so they could tell him he was not allowed on the property and was not to have contact with the woman.
A woman underwent a sexual assault exam after she called to report that her boyfriend was allegedly throwing her around. The woman called from a bathroom that she had locked herself in. The man allegedly was trying to kick the bathroom door in as the woman called police. She was found bleeding with lacerations to the face.
Whitefish Police took a call from a man who was concerned that a Craigslist ad he answered might have been a scam.
Columbia Falls Police took a report from a woman who complained that a wreath had been stolen from her garage door.
