The members of the Libby Rod & Gun Club in Libby discussed the proposed anti-trapping initiative (I-177) at our Sept. 20 meeting. The membership vote to oppose the “Montana Trap-Free Public Lands Initiative” was unanimous.

I, along with most of us in our club, am not a trapper. But we do not want to see unnecessary infringements by animal rights activists on our Montana outdoor heritage. We must support one another’s sports. If the animal rights activists are successful, they have stated they will target hunting next. Mountain lion hunting, archery hunting, general hunting and then fishing will be attacked.

Stick together in November and vote “no” on Initiative I-177.
