A Missoula man convicted of stealing sterling silver, coins and gold bars from a home in Flathead County in July 2010 has had his suspended sentence revoked.

Randy Dormer, 28, admitted Thursday to driving under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana in Missoula on Dec. 16, 2015.

He also admitted that he had been charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs in a case in Missoula County in the past year.

Dormer admitted to consuming meth, marijuana and Adderall in December and November of 2015. In January 2015 he reported to probation and parole with synthetic urine in an attempt to deceive his probation officers, but ditched his plan. The urine was found in a trash can.

Public defender Jessica Polan pointed out that Dormer now has a full-time job and has made strides toward getting his life back in order.

“I just want to clarify for the judge, that you went to treatment after all this,” Polan said.

Dormer will be sentenced on Oct. 20.

He is serving a probationary sentence for felony theft after he was one of two individuals who broke into a man’s home on Terrace Road in Kalispell in July 2010. Jewelry, flatware, silver pieces, a stamp collection and 100 ounces of silver and gold bars were stolen. The items were pawned in Spokane, where some of the valuable coins allegedly sold for $1,800 each.

According to his testimony on Thursday, in the six years since the incident, he’s only paid $20 toward the $59,000 he owes in restitution.
