Man struck by train near Libby identified

Authorities have identified a man hit and killed by a train Oct. 6 in Lincoln County.

Darren Joseph, 25, of Connecticut, is believed to have stowed away on a container train when he fell off onto the tracks, according to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. He was discovered by railroad workers Oct. 6.

The death is believed to be accidental but is still under investigation by BNSF Railway Special Investigators and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
