Art à la Carte for art enthusiasts
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 9 years, 11 months AGO
A call to would-be artists:
Drop by the Coeur d’Alene Library Community Room on Saturday, Oct. 22 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to try out several different art mediums and create a little art of your own. Artist-members of the Coeur d’Alene Art Association; sponsor for this free event, will guide you through the process.
If you’ve always wanted to try pastels, or if you dabble in watercolor but would like to try acrylics or scratch board, this is a perfect opportunity to get your hands dirty and celebrate “Art from the Heart” month in Coeur d’Alene.
Other mediums to try include pen and ink, clay and mixed media. If you prefer to just watch, several artists will be painting in oil, acrylic and watercolor. Framed work by our artists will be on display. This is an adult venue, but teens are welcome and a coloring table is available for kids coming with parents.
This event is designed to engage people in trying art and learning about several art mediums in a fun environment and to acquaint them with our community arts organization. The Coeur d’Alene Art Association is a nonprofit association that has been active in our community for more than 50 years. They are unique in that they accept artists of any level and as a result have beginner to professional involved. We invite anyone interested in pursuing art and willing to contribute time and experience to join our friendly, inclusive group.
