If you are interested in stagecraft and what happens behind the scenes of a production, Out of the Shadows Theater can use a hand.

The new theater program, facilitated by Specialized Needs Recreation, is preparing for its first production and is still in need of volunteers to work in makeup, help with costume changes, manage microphones and work backstage. The production of Disney's musical "Beauty and the Beast Jr." is set for Nov. 11 and 12.

A stage manager in particular is needed to take notes for the director leading up to the show.

"Beauty and the Beast Jr." will star an entire cast of actors and actresses with disabilities who are paired with abled shadow actors to assist during rehearsals and the show.

Rehearsals take place at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road, and the production will be at the Kroc Center at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and 2 p.m. Nov. 12.

To volunteer, call Out of the Shadows Theater founder Wendy Carroll at 765-2764.
