Ronald Lee Clark passed away Oct. 6, 2016, at Heritage Place in Kalispell, with his wife of 64 years, Jean, at his bedside.

Ron was born March 29, 1926, in Scandia, Kansas, to William and Schane Clark. He was a small town Kansas boy in spirit all of his life, returning every year to spend the fall and winter in his boyhood home.

Ron was drafted into the U.S. Army while still in high school. He served in the infantry in Europe, was captured during the Battle of the Bulge, and liberated on his 19th birthday.

After being discharged at the end of World War II, he returned home. He went to work for the Army Corps of Engineers, where he served as an electrical inspector. Ron met and married B. Jean Case in 1951. They had two children, Michael (deceased) and Shayne. He worked on many of the federal hydroelectric projects throughout the Midwest and Pacific Northwest, including Wilson Dam, John Day Dam, Libby Dam and Chief Joseph Dam. He also worked on Gem State and Abiqui Dam, which were state projects.

After retiring from the corps, Ron and Jean settled in Chelan, Washington. They enjoyed boating on Lake Chelan, home projects, playing cards with friends and family, and the sunsets over the lake. They moved to Kalispell in 2010 to be closer to family.

Ron was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Shayne, and son-in-law Peter, grandchildren Beecher (Irina), Jennifer (Ross), and Julia (Philippe), great-grandchildren Lena, Ian, Emma, and Lily, nieces Karen Smith, Lana Urban, Suzy Harms, and Robin Ernest, and many great-nieces and nephews.

Ron became a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness in 2009. A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Valley View Ct., Kalispell.

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
