Community Action Partnership food bank in Coeur d’Alene is asking community members to help them make Thanksgiving a thankful time for everyone.

The food bank, with help from Super 1 Foods, will host a turkey drive beginning Friday through Nov. 5.

The effort will help more than 1,500 local families who will struggle to provide a traditional Thanksgiving dinner this holiday season.

Monetary donations of any amount can be made when buying groceries at Super 1 Foods stores in Coeur d’Alene and Hayden by simply adding the amount to your order.

The proceeds will be used to purchase Thanksgiving dinner supplies for local food bank clients.

Volunteers will be at Super 1 Foods Friday, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. entering shoppers — who show their receipts with donations — into a prize drawing.

Direct donations of turkeys, non-perishable food items and monetary contributions will also be accepted at Community Action Partnership, 4144 W. Industrial Loop, Coeur d’Alene.

The food bank is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., to accept donations.

For information, contact the food bank at (208) 770-3018.
