Larson Ice Rink chilled and ready

MOSES LAKE — It's that time of the year to sharpen your ice skates and pull those heavy winter coats out of the closet.
The Larson Ice Rink in Moses Lake will be opening in early November.
The ice rink, located at 610 Yakima Ave., will officially be open to the public at 4 p.m. on Nov. 4. Public skating at the rink is offered on the following days:
Mondays: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Wednesdays: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Fridays: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturdays: 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Sundays: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Admission to the rink for people who have their own skates is $3 for adults and $2 for people ages 5-17 and seniors over 65. Children ages 4 and under get in for free.
Admission for people who need skates is $5 for children, youth and seniors and $6 for adults. Punch cards and season passes are available for people who plan on visiting the rink frequently. The passes can be purchased via the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department, 411 S. Balsam Street, or at the rink itself.
Ice skating lessons start Nov. 7 and will be held on Monday evenings. The lessons cost $45 for six 30-minute sessions. The Moses Lake Youth Hockey Association is also available for kids ages 4-17 who want to enjoy a fun outdoor sport. For more information on youth hockey contact Ty Howard at 206-450-6677.
There is also a hockey league for adults, which runs from 8:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays for people of all skill levels. The adult league starts on Nov. 7 and registrations are still being accepted. For more information on the adult league contact Chris Hesse at 509-361-9672.
In addition, “Stick and Puck”, for adults and kids will be offered from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays for $7 per evening, or $35 for a two-month session. “Stick and Puck” is designed for kids and adults to play hockey together and learn the sport.
