LAW ROUNDUP: Alleged thief tries to turn the tables

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report from U.S. 2 near Kalispell where a business owner reported that a woman allegedly tried to steal a coat, but then gave it back once she was caught by an employee. The woman then allegedly raised her hands to two employees and threatened to file charges against the employees. The alleged thief was taken to jail.
A home on Rock Cliff Place in Bigfork was allegedly burglarized. Deputies increased patrol.
Someone complained that a woman had allegedly cashed a $1,125 fraudulent check.
Someone called to report that it appeared that someone was siphoning gas from a vehicle on Bierney Creek Road. Instead, a deputy found that the owner of the vehicle was trying to siphon water out of it.
Someone on Klein Lane in Columbia Falls reported that checks had been stolen from her mailbox, with 14 fraudulent checks written so far.
An officer determined that a bear near the entrance of a community on Ridgewood Drive was just being a bear, and not causing any problems, which meant that Fish and Game officers did not need to respond.
Columbia Falls Police cited and released a man who was caught stealing beer from an establishment on Nucleus Avenue.
Extra patrol was planned for Talbot Road, where teenagers had allegedly smashed some pumpkins without permission.
Whitefish Police served a felony warrant on a man who was spotted at a casino. He was taken to jail.
Kalispell Police took a report from a man who said that his friend saw his photograph posted on Facebook as the possible perpetrator of a gas drive off. The man said he had not stolen anything and wanted a public apology.
A man on Appleway Drive reported that a stolen chainsaw had been returned to him, along with a duffel bag, although the duffel bag was now empty of ammunition that was originally in the bag.
A man and woman were told they could not come back to a store after they allegedly shopped drunk and left without paying for items.
