Jeanne Rae Munson, 69
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 years, 3 months AGO
Jeanne Rae Munson went to sleep in Jesus, surrounded by all of her family. She was covered by prayers, beloved Bible promises and the beautiful vocal harmonies of the “Blessed Assurance” of her faithful friend and heavenly Father.
Jeanne was born on Dec. 23, 1946, to Carol (Wallace) and Pastor Arnold Kurtz. She met the love of her life in music theory class in college. They married on Sept. 4, 1966. Jeanne loved God, her husband, her family, music and flowers. She was a loving and devoted pastor’s wife, a perfect example of the best mother on Earth, a pillar of spiritual strength and a fervent prayer warrior, a cheerful employee wherever she worked and a loyal friend to all she encountered.
She had a voice rivaled by few, played the piano with graceful hands, and she passed this gift for music on to every last one of her children and grandchildren. Jeanne and Lloyd played and sang together just for fun but mainly for the glory of God. Once she moved to Coeur d’Alene, she sang in the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale and directed a Ladies Praise group. She was a member of the Garden Club and she and Lloyd loved to transform each yard they owned into an oasis. But her favorite hobby was spending time with her whole family: camping, board games, badminton, waterskiing, Waveruuners, and sharing meals and laughter.
Jeanne’s greatest legacy of love is her children and grandchildren. Jeanne and Lloyd’s passion for each other is reflected in the plaque she recently gave to him: “Our favorite love story is ours.”
She will be desperately missed by her husband, Lloyd of 50 years and 44 days; son Loren Munson of LaClede, Idaho; daughter Lana (Munson) Young of Priest River, Idaho; daughter LouAnn (Munson) Henneberg of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Coeur d’Alene SDA church, 111 E. Locust Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Flowers may be sent to the church or donations can be made to Adventist World Radio.
Bell Tower Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
