Jerry Edwin Evans Sr.

Jerry was born August 10, 1941 in Chewelah, WA. and spent most of his childhood in Elk and Spokane WA. He left this earth on October 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Jerry had a wide circle of family and friends. Everywhere Jerry went he would accrue lifelong friends and this followed him to his final days.

Jerry was a beloved father, grandfather and brother, he was the rock of the family. He was extremely proud of both his kids and grandchildren’s accomplishments.

Jerry served his country from 1959-1962 in the United States Navy. Jerry was proud of his service and country. He moved his family to Fairbanks, AK. In 1969 where he worked for the Alyeska Pipeline for twenty-five years. Jerry was a rancher, he had his private pilot license which allowed him to take advantage of the outdoor opportunities that the Alaskan Frontier had to offer. His favorite thing about Alaska was the family cabin on the Salcha River outside of Fairbanks where his family would get together to fish, BBQ, and spend quality time together.

Jerry retired from the Teamsters in 1994, then moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID. There he owned The Back Door Tavern for four years and then went on to sell cars for Midway Nissan.  In his later years he lived in Hayden, ID. where family was able to gather around him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Earl Evans, mother Hazel Evans and his brother Don Evans. He is survived by his children: Jerry Evans Jr (Kaitlyn and Courtney), Jeff Evans (Tyler and Rachel), Jody Evans (Kassey, Derek and Grayson).  His brother Ernie Evans and Three sisters; Sharon Storey (Roger), Kristine Brady, Shirley Manship (Dan).

Services will be held at the American Legion, 1138 E. Poleline Ave, Post Falls, ID. Sunday, October 30th at 4pm.
