Benedict Alexander Frigge, 83, passed away Oct. 24, 2016, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Born to Anton and Agnes Frigge on Feb. 27, 1933, in South Dakota.
He precedes in heaven with his daughter, Linda.
Benedict, also known as Ben, was the youngest of eight children and grew up on the family farm. In 1951, he graduated from high school and returned to the farm to work for four years. In 1954, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. After serving in the military, he moved to California joining his brothers and one sister.
In 1958, Ben and Nancy were married and lived in San Jose, Calif. They had five children, Teresa, Vincent, Brenda, Linda and Tina. Ben worked for Lockheed Martin from 1959-1969, then from 1969-1989 he worked for United Airlines in San Francisco. He retired in 1989 and remained in San Jose enjoying life attending the flea markets, and traveling between his children and grandchildren. In 2004, he moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, where he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and traveling all over the Inland Northwest.
Ben is survived by son Vincent Frigge of Middletown, Calif.; daughters Teresa Frigge of San Jose, Brenda Pratt of Aptos, Calif., and Tina Frigge Timmer and son-in-law John Timmer of Hayden, Idaho; three grandchildren, Sherri Gregory, Steven Heart and Windie Pratt; and eight great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. with vigil to start at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rathdrum. Military funeral honors and burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash.
