Halloween, harvest happenings planned around Kootenai County

Whatever you celebrate, the harvest or Halloween, there are plenty of opportunities for some late October fun around Kootenai County.

FRIDAY

• Christian Center School’s 36th annual Fall Festival | 6 p.m. We create a safe and fun harvest celebration for our families and community. Unlimited games and fun for $5/person or $20/family. SATURDAY

• Trunk or Treat in Downtown Rathdrum | 5:30-7:30 p.m. Main Street. Best decorated trunk contest, pumpkin carving contest, costume parade, carnival games. For safety, parents are asked to refrain from wearing masks that cover their entire faces (adults must be recognizable by other adults). Only registered cars will be displayed on Main Street from which children will trick or treat. Teal Pumpkin project, national campaign to offer non-allergenic treats, will be represented at the event.

• Fall Fest and Apple Palooza | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Corner of Fifth Street and Sherman Avenue, Coeur d’Alene. The final Kootenai County Farmers Market of the season, free hay rides, face painting, pumpkin decorating and more. Apple Palooza is an apple tasting event with various apple treats throughout downtown businesses.

SUNDAY

• Trunk or Treat at Unity Spiritual Center | 2-4 p.m. weather permitting. 4465 N. 15th St., Coeur d’Alene. Free, fun, safe, interactive Halloween event. Trick-or-treating, jump houses, games prizes snacks. For children 12 and younger. Must be accompanied by parent or adult guardian. Info: unitycenter.org

MONDAY

• Candlelight Christian Fellowship Halloween Carnival | 5-8 p.m., Silver Lake Mall, Coeur d’Alene. Free, community event. Games, face painting and lots of candy. A pumpkin scavenger hunt throughout the mall- prizes include Silverwood passes and Triple Play tickets. Random prizes through the night. Contact Candlelight or Silverlake Mall for more details.

• New Life Church Harvest Party | 5-8 p.m. For families of all ages. Games, candy, food and fun. Activities are safe and indoors. They include a bungee race and a bounce house. 6068 W. Hayden Ave. Rathdrum. Info: (208) 660-3541

• Free museum day | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Post Falls Museum, 101 E. Fourth Ave. (corner of Spokane Street). Treats will be handed out to kids of all ages.

• Trick or Treating at Post Falls City Hall | 2 to 4:30 p.m. 408 N. Spokane St.

• Trick or Treat Downtown Coeur d’Alene and Trunk or Treat | 4-6 p.m. Trick or Treating all over downtown. Trunk or Treat put on by First Presbyterian Church will be at Sixth Street and Sherman Avenue. Decorated trunks, costumes, and candy.
