I’ve lived in Bonner County over 20 years and have seen the difference which has occurred since Daryl Wheeler became our sheriff with his very impressive training and leadership skills. Officers are better trained and better equipped, deputy pay and moral is higher with less employment turnover, jail is run more efficiently, money is spent more efficient and effectively, schools have drug and suicide prevention programs, (including programs for parents). Sheriff Wheeler has implemented Coffee with Cops, Nixel.com and offenderwatch.com to help keep we the citizens informed and safe. I know he’d like to employ more officers to help with that mission.

Wheeler is highly respected among his peers who see what goes on behind the scenes with endorsements coming from the Bonner County Sheriff’s Guild, Pend Oreille County sheriff and Sandpoint Professional Fire Fighters and more.

I respect that he waits for all the facts to be investigated before he makes any statements to the public.
