Lincoln County will soon begin whittling down a list of 29 applicants who filed for the county’s open administrator position.

County Human Reources Manager Victor L. White said that a team of six will begin the work in the near future.

The team consists of the three county commissioners, White, treasurer Nancy Trotter Higgins and clerk Robin Benson. A seventh person may be added to the list, White said.

The team will score the applicants based on qualifications and narrow the list down to five or six people, he said.

Phone interviews will then be conducted and one or two people will be brought in for in-person interviews.

The goal is to have someone on board by Jan. 1. The salary range for the position is $60,886 to $61,936, White has said.

Commissioner Mark Peck has been serving as interim county administrator since Aug. 1, 2015 after Bill Bischoff resigned as the county’s administrative assistant.
