Troy woman gets 18 years for burglary conviction

A 34-year-old Troy woman with a lengthy criminal history was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Monday with 10 years suspended.
Brandy Kay Fellows pleaded guilty to one count of burglary related to an April 4 arrest in which numerous items were stolen from two residences.
Charges of attempted burglary, two counts of theft and solicitation to tamper with physical evidence were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Fellows was given credit for 203 days served as of Monday.
Some of the items reported stolen in the police report included: women’s winter boots, Italian shoes, medicine, a Winchester rifle, bank cards, IDs, a flip phone and keys to two vehicles.
Earlier this year, deputy county attorney Jeffrey Zwang objected to a request from Fellows’ attorney that she be released on her own recognizance. Zwang said Fellows’ 38 arrests, mostly for property-related crimes, demonstrated her lack of willingness to obey the law.
