No bones about it, man upset by Halloween trick

A man on Whitebear Road in Kila got a trick rather than a treat. The man told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that someone allegedly took his dog out if its kennel, painted it like a skeleton and then put it back in the kennel. The man ultimately discovered it was a family member responsible for the prank.

A deputy was requested at U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls to respond to people who were allegedly being disorderly and confrontational.

A man on Montana 35 in Kalispell thought he heard a woman getting beaten up inside a motor home after allegedly hearing screams. Turns out the people inside were OK, just watching a movie.

Someone reported finding a dog on Trumble Creek Road that allegedly had lacerations all over its body. The person thought it may have been shot with a BB gun.

A South Cedar Drive resident told deputies that his or her son’s ex allegedly broke out a window on the son’s truck.


Columbia Falls Police Department responded to a physical disturbance on 11th Street West, when a man reportedly jumped through a window and attacked another man. Police were notified that the alleged attacker had warrants out and were cautioned about his history involving partner/family assault, resisting, drugs, obstructing and violent tendencies.

A woman told police she was receiving threatening texts and calls from an ex who allegedly said a “country beat down was coming for her.”

Police received two reports of a “distraught,” “disoriented” and unintelligible woman wearing a gray hoodie on Nucleus Avenue and Second Avenue East.

A welfare check was requested for a man who was reportedly speaking to himself and passing out on Ninth Street West.

A Fourth Avenue West resident was suspicious of two men in his or her backyard who had set off motion sensor lights. When the person asked what the men were doing, they reportedly ran off.


Kalispell Police Department responded to a vehicle versus bicycle accident on North Meridian Road and West Wyoming Street. The caller said it appeared the bicyclist was “up and moving.”

A woman on West Idaho Street didn’t get much luck from a pink troll that she allegedly stole, along with some candy. Police were told the suspect had a history of drugs, obstructing and felony assault.

Someone on Third Avenue West North had concerns after seeing a deer carcass hanging in someone’s front yard. The people were reportedly “finishing taking care of a deer,” and police said no crime had been committed.

Someone hit a light pole on Greenbriar Drive.

A person seen sleeping inside a bank vestibule on North Main Street was told to move along.

A caller was concerned about a pickup that reportedly had a swaying overhead camper that looked like it was going to fall off.

Police took a walk-up complaint of indecent exposure.


Whitefish Police Department received a report from someone on Flathead Avenue who claimed he saw two different trucks with the same plate. The man said one of the trucks allegedly followed him to a gas station and the other was parked outside his work.

A hotel employee on U.S. 93 South told police she was allegedly receiving threatening letters addressed to her and the hotel.

A woman told police her tires were slashed on East Second Street.

Someone reportedly threw a beer bottle through a vehicle window on Central Avenue.
