The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was unable to locate a mountain lion allegedly spotted near a family’s wood pile on North Hilltop Road in Columbia Falls. Family members had called more than once over the past few days to complain about the mountain lion hanging around the property.
A deputy told a man that driving was a privilege and not a right after he called to complain that he had not gotten his driver’s license back after being pulled over for his fourth DUI. The man was informed that his driver’s license had been sent to Helena, the standard procedure for anyone who doesn’t cooperate with a DUI investigation.
A West Glacier man reported that $2,000 had been stolen from a safe.
A man who kicked vagrants off a property on U.S. East reported that he believed the transients might have retaliated by slashing his tires.
More than $400 was taken from an unlocked vehicle on Parkside Drive.
A deputy took a call from a mother who reported that a man was harrassing her 13-year-old daughter on Skype, asking for inappropriate photos. The man said he was going to put the photos on a child porn site. The mother had learned that the daughter had already sent the man a photo.
A woman called from outside Columbia Falls to report that her bird had been stolen and she found what she believed was its cage on Craigslist. The cage advertisement did not include the bird. The woman said that the bird was easy to identify because it had an amputated toe.
A husband called from Lower Valley Road to report that his wife had punched him. The wife called to report that the man had been drinking, was bleeding from the head, and had punched a hole through the wall. Deputies found that the man had taken a walk and decided to leave for the night.
Kalispell Police told a woman she should probably get a restraining order after she reported that her ex-boyfriend had allegedly shot out the window of her cousin’s car and chased the woman down with a van.
A theft investigation on East Idaho Street ended with a suspect being taken into custody. The suspect then allegedly tried to kick out the windows of the officer’s patrol car.
A truck allegedly drove through a flower bed in a park.
A man with a history of drug use and assault was told not to come back to a motel after he allegedly followed a woman he had been abusing. He was allegedly let into the hotel room by the woman’s children. The woman was told about how to get a no-contact order.
A person on U.S. 2 reported that a man had been caught purchasing alcohol for minors, but when he was confronted about the crime, the man allegedly took the alcohol for himself and drove off.
Whitefish Police Department advised a street preacher that he could not sleep on the city’s sidewalks.
Cameras, iPhones, iPads, a backpack and sunglasses were stolen from a locked vehicle on U.S. 93 South.
Columbia Falls Police Department advised a woman of her options to pursue civil charges after an unsuccessful attempt to reach her ex-boyfriend. The woman wanted assistance in retrieving a milk container and a movie from the man after the pair’s recent break-up.
