BONNERS FERRY -- The Brush and Bow opened their doors Aug. 12 at 6389 Kootenai Street.

Walking inside this quaint store, most people would feel their inner interior designers awaken. Adam and Amber Huseby of Bonners Ferry have had this dream of opening their own business for over 10 years, they said. They feature cottage style, industrial or farmhouse decor in The Brush and Bow.

“There is a story behind everything in our shop,” according to Adam Huseby. For example, the front desk used to be in Adam Huseby’s father’s shop. When customers are checking out, they will find vintage wood decorated with love.

All of the inventory is supplied by the Husebys. They look for items that they would want in their own home, which they refurbished. According to the Husebys, their inspiration comes everywhere, from magazines to Pinterest.

“Spattering of home decor,” said Huseby about their inventory.

Currently, they are open Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. With the upcoming school year, the hours might increase, they said.

The Husebys take special orders or requests are on a case-by-case basis, they said.
