SANDPOINT — An arrest warrant has been entered against a Sagle man accused of trying to dodge jury duty.

First District Judge Barbara Buchanan issued the $500 warrant earlier this month, after Jason Shane Centorbi failed to appear in 1st District Court to explain why he should not be held in contempt, court records show.

Centorbi, 47, was mailed a two-page jury qualification form in February and ordered to appear for jury service in April.

A postcard reminding Centorbi to fill out and return the form was sent in March.

He was mailed a failure-to-comply notice in April and was ordered to complete the form by May 20, according to court documents.

After the deadline lapsed, Centorbi was ordered to appear in court in order to explain himself.

If held in contempt, Centorbi could be jailed for up to five days and fined up to $500.
