The Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 9 years, 3 months AGO
Eric Allard of Calgary, Alberta, and Kalispell’s Logan Lindholm both shot 4-under-par 62s to share the first-day lead at the 79th International Labor Day Tournament at Buffalo Hill Golf Club on Saturday.
Ryan Buls of Kalispell is one shot back and in third place.
Shawn Tucker of Whitefish and Cameron Dunning of Calgary are tied for fourth in a tightly-bunched field. They are two shots behind the leaders.
Lindholm is a two-time champion of this event (2012 and 2013). He finished third last year, two-shots behind winner Ryggs Johnston of Libby.
Johnston, a high school sophomore, is on a college recruiting trip this weekend.
In ladies play, 15-year-old Julia Gregg of Farmers Branch, Texas, carded a 2-over 76 to top the leader board.
Sarah Stewart of Whistler, British Columbia, and Kali Gordon of Okotoks, Alberta, are tied for second with 79s. Gordon is the defending champion.
Play continues Sunday and winds up Monday.
