PREP ROUNDUP: St. Maries rolls past Riverside

CHATTAROY, Wash. — Zach Renfro scored a pair of touchdowns as the St. Maries Lumberjacks rolled past the Riverside Rams 39-0 in a nonleague game on Friday night.

“Defensively, I thought we played really well and forced a lot of turnovers,” St. Maries coach Craig Tefft said. “Offensively, we were able to run the ball and make some things happen.”

Donaven Rottini also ran for a touchdown for St. Maries (2-0), which travels to Deer Park next Friday.

Individual stats and score by quarters were not available.

KENDRICK — Devin Whaley-Arroyo recovered a fumble in the end zone in the second quarter for the Knights in a White Star League loss to the Tigers.

Bryar Sanchez scored on a 12-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for Lakeside (0-1, 0-1 WSL), which travels to Clark Fork next Friday.

Kendrick quarterback Jerry Gorbett threw for 235 yards and six touchdowns. The Tigers are 2-0, 2-0.

Post Falls sweeps

at tri-match

KALISPELL, Mont. — Allison Munday and Mackenzie Morris led a balanced effort by the Trojans allowed them to win a very close match against Glacier, 22-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 18-16.

Munday and Morris each had 17 kills, Courtney Finney had 27 assists, Sydney Parks seven blocks and Cassidy Johnson had four blocks. Munday and Morris finished with 10 digs, while Brook Gomer and Kalli Minden each had nine digs.

“The girls played with a lot of energy,” Post Falls coach Matt Barkley said. “It was an exciting match. Everbody played well, we played as a team. Our blocking was sensational, we had 14 blocks. If anything got by our blocks we had 54 digs.”

Post Falls beat Lakeland 25-22, 25-21, 25-17.

Munday had 10 kills, Sam Hammond had 11 assists, Kayla Mayo had 10 assists, Cassidy Jackson put away five blocks and Mackie Morris finished with 10 digs.

“They played really tough against us,” Barkley said. “They were much improved. We served well and had a good serve-receive, which kept them at bay.”

No stats were available for Lakeland. No report was received.

Post Falls (4-1) hosts Lake City on Thursday in 5A Inland Empire League.

Lakeland travels to Timberlake on Tuesday.
