An elderly woman called the Whitefish Police Department after riding her motorized wheelchair across town to shop and then discovering the battery had died, leaving her stranded. Officers assisted her in calling a taxi to take her home to get a replacement battery.
A caller on U.S. 93 South told officers there was a dead deer on the sidewalk that was in the way of pedestrians and people riding bikes. The deer was located and removed.
A caller on East Second Street told police there was a car parked nearby with the keys hanging out of the outside door lock. The caller was concerned because there was a purse inside the vehicle and no one around. Police collected the keys and left messages with the vehicle’s owner.
A River Lakes Drive resident called police about a $1,500 charge for a computer they hadn’t purchased. The caller was concerned about fraud.
A caller on Central Avenue told police his vehicle had been damaged while parked overnight.
Several callers alerted officers to loud music and fireworks on Denver Street. Officers found there was a wedding in the area, with proper permits for the party.
A man told police that his drawstring backpack was stolen from a business on Central Avenue.
A woman on Sawtooth Drive called police when an allegedly intoxicated man began banging on her door and trying to get in. Officers found the suspect down the street laying on the ground.
Someone brought a dog to the Columbia Falls Police Department in an effort to find the owner. Animal control picked up the dog and reunited it with its owners.
A man who had been cited at a previous traffic stop called the police because he wanted to speak with an officer about the specifics of his citation. The man was counseled by an officer.

West Valley Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Lost Creek Drive.
