A fire destroyed a garage, three motorcycles and two cars Saturday night at 348 Willow Glen Drive near Kalispell.
According to South Kalispell Fire Chief Chris Yerkes, the fire had already engulfed the garage full of motorcycles and two cars in the driveway by the time fire crews arrived.
In addition to South Kalispell, Somers, West Valley, Smith Valley and Evergreen fire departments responded.
“Mutual aid worked very well to get enough manpower there to take care of it,” Yerkes said.
A house located a few feet from the garage was saved, though there was some minor exterior damage from heat.
The damage to the garage, motorcycles and cars is estimated to be $65,000, according to Yerkes.
“It’s a total loss, along with all the contents,” Yerkes said.
The home belonged to two of the department’s firefighters, Yerkes said. The firefighters were out of town when the flames broke out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
