Hazel Motichka, 102, passed away on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016. “The earth lost an angel and heaven gained one. Hazel Motichka went to be with her Lord, and many friends and relatives who preceded her in death during her 102 years on this earth.”

Hazel was born to Clarence and Ruth Johnson on Aug. 1, 1914, in Turner, Montana. She was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded her in death.

She married Neil Sheridan on June 17, 1935, and they had one child, Lorraine Dempsey. Neil was killed in a logging accident in August of 1960, and Hazel remarried several years later. She married Joseph Motichka who passed away in 1999.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Lorraine; three grandchildren, Dorrie and husband Mike Stone, Debra and husband Greg Johnson, and Bill Dempsey; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
