BONNERS FERRY -- The signs on Pape’ Machinery on the South Hill shows that the business has relocated to Ponderay.

According to Pape’ representative, Pat Walsh, the decision for closure was not an easy one to make.

“It was based purely upon the depressed economic agricultural climate in North Idaho,” said Walsh.

Walsh commented that they lease the now empty property. According to county officials, in 2012 Pape’ started in Bonners Ferry and the building is leased from Felsted and Broemmeling, LLC. The signs have all been taken down and the windows are all covered. Employees were offered and accepted the opportunity to stay with the company at the Ponderay location.
