The new Canoe Gulch Ranger Station, being constructed at a cost of more than $600,000, is rising quickly along Highway 37 about 12 miles from Libby. E.F. Matelich Construction Co. of Kalispell is prime contractor on the job. Skranak Bros. of Libby are subcontractors. This view shows two barracks buildings and a mess hall. The new station will be headquarters for the Warland Ranger District. Libby Dam will flood the Warland Station. Photo from the Nov. 10, 1966, files of The Western News.
