The Libby Loggers lost their third straight on Friday against the Ronan Chiefs. Behind Ronan quartberback Kasey Mock’s three touchdowns through the air and two more on the ground, the Chiefs won on their home turf, 40-6.

Libby finished with 109 offensive yards, 73 passing and 36 rushing. Ronan put up 373 total yards on offense, mostly on the ground with 205 rushing yards. Libby quarterback Brian Peck led the Loggers with 18 rushing yards, averaging 4.5 yards on four attempts. Peck threw 6-for-12 for 34 yards, while Braydan Thom added 39 yards on 2-for-4 passing.

Ronan built up a quick 13-point lead by the end of the first quarter, but didn’t lay off in the second, posting 21 more points on the Loggers before the halftime whistle.

Libby’s defense fared better in the second half, holding Ronan to just six third-quarter points. The Loggers didn’t allow the Chiefs’ on the board again, and finally posted six of their own before the final buzzer. The game ended 40-6.

The Loggers, now 0-3 overall, look ahead to another non-conference matchup against the Shelby Coyotes, who will travel to Libby after a 28-18 win over Eureka.
