FALL GROOVE BRINGS COMEDY, MUSIC INTO THE SPOTLIGHT

SANDPOINT – Feels like there’s a fall groove in the air, which is just fine when so many cool events come along for the ride!

The Panida tips its (cowboy) hat to beloved actor Gene Wilder, with special showings of the digitally remastered Mel Brooks classic ‘Blazing Saddles’ tonight and Friday on the big screen. Holly McGary makes a musical homecoming tonight at the 219 Lounge and the American Heritage Wildlife Foundation hosts a comedy night fundraiser Saturday at the Sandpoint Center.

Speaking of comedy, Gallagher hits the Panida stage on Tuesday night as part of his farewell tour. And, yes – the ‘Sledge-O-Matic’ will be wreaking havoc on those in the ultra-splash and splash zones.

Gleewood

American Heritage Wildlife Foundation hosts Comedy Night

Venue: The Sandpoint Center, located at 414 Church St., in Sandpoint.

Time: 6 p.m., Saturday

This fundraiser for the American Heritage Wildlife Foundation features comedian Kermet Apio, as well as a silent auction of gift baskets from a variety of area sponsors. Appetizers will be provided. This event is sponsored by Evans Brothers Coffee, Co-Op Country Store, North 40 Outfitters, Northwind Lakota Flutes, Ponderay Garden Center, Winter Ridge and North Idaho Animal Hospital.

Panhandle Blues Fest

Join the fun as five regional blues bands take the stage for this outdoor concert.

Bring your lawn chairs and coolers, no glass, please, and food vendors will also be on site. Free camping at the concert location.

Admission: $20, under 12 free. Proceeds help raise money for school scholarships.

Mandolin Orchestra playing session

National Ballroom Dance Week Social Dance

Venue: Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave., in Sandpoint.

Come celebrate the fun tradition of social dancing in Sandpoint. This event will feature three dance lessons, fox trot, rumba and swing, all taught by a local professional instructor from 7- 8 pm, followed by general dancing, refreshments, door prizes, mixers, and a drawing for a month of free dance classes.

There will also be a drawing for a free month of dance lessons. Singles and couples are welcome.
