Lori Michelle Wilkinson, 52
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 years, 6 months AGO
We lost our beautiful, loving Lori on Sept. 7, 2016, in San Clemente, Calif. Lori was born in Pomona, Calif., to Robert and Cheryl Hollingsworth on June 3, 1964.
At age 4, Lori moved with her parents and older brother Randy to Coeur d’Alene. The family lived in town, and Lori attended Winton Elementary, where she met some of her lifelong friends. It was here that she also found the Lord and became an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. At age 10, Lori and the family moved to Wolf Lodge. Lori enjoyed the country living, participating in 4-H with her pigs and rabbits. She also loved her horse and riding with local friends.
Lori graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1982. Her banking and investment career began in her senior year, when she worked part time at the bank. A loving wife and mother, Lori worked as a stock broker while raising her children. Later, Lori owned and operated Northwest Property Management where, at one time she managed more than 300 rentals. After the business closed, she went on to work at Rehab facilities in Southern California. She had lived in San Clemente for four years, where she enjoyed the beauty of the ocean while fishing off the pier and taking her dog to the beach. Lori was planning to move back to Coeur d’Alene, but health issues came up. She was very proud that she had achieved 4 1/2 years of sobriety and was able to help others.
Lori was preceded in death by her brother, Randy; and her grandparents, Harry and Gertrude Hollingsworth, John and Janice Bouillon, and Violet and Woody Hopkins. Lori is survived by her parents, Bob and Cheryl Hollingsworth; her children, Danica Mazenko, Jacob Wilkinson and Derek Wilkinson; those who loved her so much, Kol, Mark and Ken; aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene, is in care of the arrangements. You may visit Lori’s memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
