BONNERS FERRY — The wait is over — new carpet covers the floor, the smell of fresh paint in the air. The paper window coverings have come down to reveal pink, fluffy flowers in the windows along with the latest designs.

Monday, Sept. 12, the doors to the Dressing Room, 7160 Main St., officially opened in downtown Bonners Ferry.

The Dressing Room owner and operator, Kali Copley, is no stranger to the fashion world. Copley started in 1991, at the Boardwalk Boutique. After high school, Copley worked at various clothing store chains and was co-manager at the Maurice’s in Sandpoint. Copley was also employed for seven years at Larson’s in Bonners Ferry.

Also featured in the Dressing Room is Copley’s original jewelry, Chokecherry Charms. Chokecherry Charms began in 2011 with unique, handcrafted, vintage style jewelry. Copley has been selling her shabby chic jewelry online at Etsy. She has also been making her jewelry available locally, during her annual holiday sale at the Homestead Greatroom. Her collection includes a variety of necklaces, wine cork necklaces, jeweled earrings, as well as bracelets and rings. Coming soon to the Dressing Room is jewelry by Andrew Small.

“I am just thrilled to be able to do something I love in my hometown that I love,” said Copley.

Copley recently traveled to Seattle to attend at her first Pacific Northwest Trend Show. There she met with potential vendors to preview their line of clothing to implement into her new store.

The modern boutique will feature items with a vintage charm, according to Copley. The boutique is open Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
