The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development competitively awarded $438,100 in Indian Community Development Block Grant funds to the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Housing Authority that will enable it to replace the asphalt roofs on up to 60 roofs that fail to meet HUD Housing Quality Standards.

The houses were built from 1970 to 1990 with 25-year roofs which are now beyond their useful lives.

The award is part of $56,582,132 in ICDBG funds distributed to 77 Native American communities across the country to improve housing conditions and stimulate community development for residents, including funding construction projects and local jobs. ICDBG funds support a wide range of community development and affordable housing activities.
