Man deemed mentally unfit to proceed for indecent exposure

A Kalispell man has been deemed mentally unfit to face legal proceedings on felony indecent exposure charges.
Raymond Carl Tommy, 23, appeared in Flathead District Court on Thursday for two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and one felony count of indecent exposure.
He is accused of exposing himself to four children beneath the Old Steel Bridge on Aug. 26.
Tommy appeared to have a difficult time understanding Flathead District Court Judge Amy Eddy on Thursday as she attempted to arraign him before Chief Public Defender Nick Aemisegger stepped in.
“He is not fit to proceed,” Aemisegger said.
Aemisegger noted that Tommy had been charged with a felony last year in Flathead County and was sent to Montana State Hospital for an extended time because he was mentally unfit to proceed.
Aemisegger told Eddy that he would try to get Tommy placed in appropriate treatment so that he might be able to proceed on the felony indecent exposure charges.
Tommy is being held on $35,000 bond.
