CHENEY — Nate Buer threw for two touchdowns and Braden Vaughan scored on a 1-yard run as the Post Falls Trojans beat the Cheney Blackhawks 21-0 in a nonleague game on Friday night.
Post Falls’ (3-1) defense forced two turnovers in the win, keeping Cheney out of the red zone all night.
“Really, it was our defense that played a big role tonight,” Post Falls interim coach Blaine Bennett said. “Our offense kind of sputtered a little bit with a few three-and-outs, but Cheney was never in a situation where they were in the red zone. Our defense played really well and just shut them down. Brad Noesen, Nate DeGraw — really our entire front four — really played great.”
Matt Mills caught a 40-yard touchdown pass and Parker Walton had a 20-yard touchdown reception for Post Falls, which travels to Lakeland next Friday. Cheney is 1-2.
