Bader-Davis

Rachel Joy Bader and Gregory Davis, both of Coeur d’Alene, were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Stoddard Park in Hayden. Rachel is the daughter of Gideon and LaVonne Bader of Florida. Gregory is the son of Evelyn Davis and the late Ferrell Davis.

Rachel received a Bachelor of Arts in intercultural ministries. She is employed at Good Seed Publishing. Gregory is employed with Huntwood Custom Cabinets.

ENGAGEMENT

Brooks-Soronen

Grant and Chris Brooks of Coeur d’Alene are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rose Brooks to Sage Soronen both of Denver, Colo., daughter of Joel Soronen of Colorado and Elizabeth Watson of New Mexico.

Rose graduated from Lake City High School in 2009, the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 2013 and the University of Colorado in 2016 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She is employed as a Physical Therapist. Sage graduated from Colorado State University in 2011 with a degree in business. She is employed as a Technical Growth Manager.

The couple will be united in marriage in September 2017 in Denver.

EDUCATION

Rebecca Sermeno, of Coeur d’Alene, is this year’s recipient of the El Min College Scholarship from Coeur d’Alene Community United Methodist Church. The El Min Scholarship Endowment was established in 1985 in memory of retired Methodist minister, Rev. Elmer West and his wife, Minnie.

Rebecca is a 2016 Lake City High graduate, and is now studying at Lewis-Clark State College to earn her nursing degree. A member of Community United Methodist Church since she was 10 years old, Rebecca has participated in youth groups and Sunday school, volunteered at Vacation Bible Schools, the Idaho Mission Project, United Methodist Corp on Relief Mission trip to Salt Lake City and the Appalachian Service Project in Tennessee.

She is a member of the Community Brass Handbell Choir at the church, and is an accomplished pianist as well as being involved in 4-H for six years.
