Hope King, 65, passed away on Sept. 18, 2016, at North Valley Hospital.
Hope was born May 9, 1951, in Hayward, California.
She married Tom King on May 3, 1997, in Columbia Falls.
Hope had various careers: She started working in a nursing home in California when she was 16; she worked in Olney for the State Forest thinning trees; in the early ‘80s she painted houses; she worked for hospice in Livingston; and, after moving back to Columbia Falls, she worked at the veterans home, cared for Catholic nuns, and also worked at Montana Pottery Shop. She loved to paint, draw and spend time with her grandchildren.
Hope was preceded in death by her father, Donald Brandon, and grandson, Elisha Brandon.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas King; three children, Donovan Rico, Ian Rowe and Jamie Brandon; mother, Bernadette Brandon; sister, Wendy Histon; brother, Donald Brandon; three granddaughters, Brittney, Ashley and Jade; grandsons, Logan Rico, Eathon Brandon and Isaac Mea; and great-grandson, Braxton. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made for Hope’s grandchildren’s future education expenses to the Tom King Educational Fund at Whitefish Credit Union, 320 Nucleus Ave, P.O. Box 1322, Columbia Falls.
A memorial service for Hope will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, at Columbia Mortuary. A potluck lunch will follow services at 12:30 p.m. at St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Columbia Falls.
