COLUMBIA FALLS — It was the Hannah-Hannah show for the Columbia Falls girls while Logan Stephens came through with a spectacular scoring performance for the Columbia Falls boys on Saturday in Northern A soccer action at Flip Darling Field versus Libby.

Hannah Gedlaman and Hannah Callender accounted for all the scoring in the Wildkats’ 7-0 victory.

Gedlaman had four goals and one assist.

Callender had three goals and one assist.

“It pretty much was (their day), ” Columbia Falls coach Greg Trenerry said of Gedlaman and Callender.

Columbia Falls (5-3 overall, 2-2 league) totaled 22 shots on goal to Libby’s two.

“The girls passed a little better today and finished well,” Trenerry said.

“It was good to get back on the winning side.”

Stephens scored two goals in each half as the Wildcats (7-1-1, 3-0) cruised to a 5-0 victory.

Jon Sigurdsson netted the first goal of the match and also assisted Stephens on his second goal.

Tristan Grein and Jakob Grein had two assists each.

“He has scored in every game this year, which is pretty remarkable,” Columbia Falls O’Brien Byrd said of Stephens, a team captain.

“He was our leading scorer last year (nine goals), but has already eclipsed that total this year.”

Columbia Falls has allowed just one goal in the last five matches. The Wildcats outshot Libby 11-2.

Brandon Karberg had two keeper saves for Columbia Falls.

“Logan is putting the scores up on one end and our defense is shutting out the opponents on the other end,” Byrd said.

Columbia Falls JV 1, Stillwater Christian 0

COLUMBIA FALLS — Anna Pickary’s goal at the 76-minute mark allowed the Columbia Falls JV to slip by Stillwater Christian School in a nonconference matchup on Friday evening.

Stillwater (1-4-1) outshot Columbia Falls on goal 19-11, but couldn’t cash in.

“Loren Pittaway (sophomore), Madi Schwartz (freshman) and Chloe Mathwing (junior) had a great game defensively,” Stillwater coach JR Hemp said.

“The team was well connected most of the game. We had chances, but just couldn’t finish. In the last few minutes of the match we had a defensive breakdown that allowed Anna Pickary to get one in just under the crossbar. Despite being unable to keep that ball out of the net, Victoria Hanson (Stillwater keeper) had several great saves throughout the game.”

Hanson totaled 10.
