A man has received a suspended sentence for stealing a vehicle in March from an Evergreen automotive dealership, taking it to California and burning it.

Corky McKinley Donnelly, 28, was sentenced to five years with the Montana Department of Corrections, all suspended, with credit for 74 days time already served.

Flathead District Judge Heidi Ulbricht also imposed a $1,000 fine, with $500 suspended and $800 fee for public defender fees, with $550 suspended.

According to court documents, a 2007 Chevy Tahoe was stolen from Centsible Auto in Evergreen on March 28.

The owner of the company contacted Donnelly and confronted him about the crime.
