Sting Timbers 06 Yellow boys: The Sting defeated the SSC Shadow Elite Boys 06 Atkinson 5-2 on Saturday. Ari Rumpler scored a hat trick and had an assist for the Sting, and Jacob Molina and Landon Miller each scored a goal.

North Idaho Inferno FC Vesciano 02 girls Blue: The Inferno beat the SSC Shadow Elite 03 Dimmer 8-0 on Saturday. Hailey Farley scored a hat trick, and Val Flores, Reagan Hartzell, Sarah Hines and Tierra Lambert each scored once.

Sting Timbers 07 boys Green: The Sting beat the SSC Shadow Paul 1 10-3 on Saturday. Olin Young had a hat trick for the Sting, Keaton Gust, Kyle Waddell and Liam Martin each scored twice, and Sawyer Anderson scored once.

Sting Timbers girls 04: The Sting beat the IEYSA Valor SC Girls 04 Withrow team 3-1 on Saturday at Mt. Spokane High to remain undefeated in PSPL play. Sting goals were scored by Isabella Lucky (2) and Kalena Flowers, and Olivia Wyatt and Amy Corette had assists.

Inferno 05 girls Hartzell: The Inferno shut out the ASE Blackhawks 05 Navy 4-0 on Saturday, with goals from Olivia Azzollini, Teagan Chatterton, Kennedy Hartzell and Alaska Jones. Goalies Juliette Gilmor and Kennedy Hartzell combined for the shutout.

The Inferno tied the Spokane Foxes Pumas FC 05 Bryntesen 2-2 on Sunday, after trailing 2-0 at halftime. Teagan Chatterton and Hadley West scored in the second half for the Inferno.

Sting Timbers FC 03 boys Red: The Sting beat TC United on Sunday at Canfield 5-0. Tyler Allred was in goal for the shutout. Cooper Proctor scored a hat trick and Quinn Clovis and Miles Jones each scored one goal in the win, and Chris Swider had four assists.

Inferno boys 04 Briseno: The Inferno beat the IEYSA Scotties B04 Wilmot 3-0 in league play on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Inferno downed the IEYSA Breakers Red B04 Arnold 5-0 in league play.

Sting Timbers 02 boys: The Sting rallied to tie the Sandpoint Strikers 2-2 on Saturday. Chris Swider and Dillon Moore each scored for the Sting Timbers.

Inferno U14 boys Johnson: The Inferno shut out the United SC Equipo Relampago 8-0. Matt McLeod scored four goals, and Josh Nilson, Logan Davis, Ethan Johnson and Gabe Novak each scored once. Joshua Nilson notched the shutout in goal.

Sting Timbers FC boys 06 Green: The Sting fell 5-4 to the Spokane Sounders B06 South “A” on Saturday. Haidyn Jonas led the Sting Timbers with 2 goals and 1 assist. Connor Jump had 1 goal and 1 assist. Kason Pintler had 1 goal. Logan Delbridge had 1 assist.

Sting Timbers 05 Red (Thompson): The Sting beat the IEYSA Breakers FC Red (Georeadis) 8-1 on Sunday at Hayden Meadows. Landon Lee and Blaine Leonard each scored twice for the Sting, and Landon Sternberg, Luke Orozco, Caden Thompson and Boston Spear each scored once. Cooper Prohaska had an assist. Blaine Leonard had two assists, Miles Taylor one.

Inferno 06 boys: The Inferno lost 4-0 on Saturday to the Hawks SC Red from Pullman.

On Sunday against Hawks SC White the Inferno boys rallied late for a 3-3 tie. James Waters scored two goals for the Inferno, and Justice Smith kicked in the tying goal in the last minutes.

Sting Timbers Boys 04 White: The Sting tied the Spokane Shadow 1-1 last Friday. Evan Lowder had a goal in the first half.

Basketball: The Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department will register Oct. 3-12 for 3rd-5th grade boys and girls basketball leagues.

Games are held Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturday during the day. Games are set to begin the second week of November and run through December.

Registration for 6th-8th grade boys and girls basketball is Oct. 13-21. This program is set to begin mid November and run through December. Games and practices are held weekdays and Saturdays at local schools.

Cost for these programs is $26 for city residents and $31 for non-city residents. Registration is at the Coeur d’Alene City Hall, 710 Mullan Ave.

A Kindergarten-2nd grade program will register in January and be held in February and March.

Chargers 31, Packers 0: The Chargers compiled 285 yards of total offense, including 195 rushing yards with 3 rushing touchdowns by Hudson Howard. Brodie Beebe threw a 70-yard touchdown to Varick Meredith and a 20-yard touchdown to Steven Burgess. Kolton Mitchell also accounted for an extra point conversion. Brodie Waddell had 2 fumble recoveries, Kyle Bridge 1 interception, and Varick Meredith, Alex Green and Jaxon Tyson each had sacks.

WRESTLING

Buzzsaw signups near: Registration for the Buzzsaw Wrestling Club is scheduled for next Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Coeur d’Alene High wrestling room.

The club is for wrestlers in grades 1-8, and meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m., starting the week of Oct. 10.

Jeff Moffat, head wrestling coach at Coeur d’Alene High, heads the instructional staff.

Cost is $50, which includes a USA Wrestling card, T-shirt and instruction.
