Badgers claim volleyball wins

The Badger volleyball team took down visiting Coeur d’Alene Charter in four sets Thursday, Sept. 22. They won the first two handily, 25-16 and 25-15, lost a close third set, 21-25, and squeaked out the final, 25-23.
Miranda Wenk was on fire for the Badgers with a game-high 20 kills.
Other scoring: Bateman, 16 assists, M. Whittaker 3 aces, Bennett, 23 digs and Pluid, 3 blocks.
The Badgers followed up their home win with a road victory Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Priest River. Again, the Badgers dominated the game behind their star Wenk, who scored 18 kills, 3 aces and had 2 blocks.
Bonners Ferry won the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-21, dropped the third set 20-25 but came back to win the final set handily 25-18.
The wins improve the Badger record to 4-2, 4-1 in league play.
Other scoring: Olson, 14 assists, Bateman, 10 digs.
The Lady Badgers travel to take on undefeated Intermountain league opponent Timberlake tonight at 7 p.m.

Bonners Ferry football suffered their fifth-straight loss at home Friday, Sept. 23, as the Pullman Greyhounds blew past the Badgers on their way to a 46-0 shutout on a windy and rainy homecoming.
