BILLINGS — Glacier senior McKenna Tinseth closed out her prep career by tying for 12th place at the Class AA state golf tournament on Friday at Lake Hills Golf Course.

Tinseth, who was eighth at state a year ago, shot 90-81—171.

The top 15 individuals earn all-state honors.

Flathead’s Becca Knutson, 91-85—176, missed the top 15 by three shots.

The 85 for Knutson was her first score under 90 this fall.

“She was consistent, dropping some putts, not getting herself into trouble,” Flathead coach Kyle Dunfee said of Knutson

“She did a good job of keeping it in the fairway. When you do that, you’ll shoot lower scores.”

Meggie Delaney of Bozeman was the medalist, posting a 76-82—158 winning total. She won by three shots.

The Bozeman girls with a 641 team score, romped to an easy victory. Helena High, 747, was a distant second. Flathead, 802, was ninth and Glacier, 803, 10th.

Flathead and Glacier did not have an all-state player on the boys side.

Flathead had two contenders after Thursday, but Rielly Manger and Nick Weaver both faded on the final day.

Manger shot 74-86—160 and Weaver 78-86—164.

“Today the course was playing a little quicker, tougher with the wind,” Dunfee said.

“The scores were a little bit higher. It’s not the way they (Manger and Weaver) wanted to end their senior year.”

Joey Moore of Billings West was the medalist — 68-66—134. He finished 10 shots ahead of the field.

Glacier was led by Brayden Aurich, 77-82—159. He was tied for 17 place after Thursday’s play.

West, 589, easily took the boys team title. Bozeman, 621, was second. Flathead, 671, was 10th and Glacier, 680, 11th.
